Today’s Journey (6.20 a.m.)

“Time In A Spiral” by Tara Design

Opposite ends of the station,
Early morning heat,
A stomach tied in knots,
Routine again repeats.

Green and blue and yellow,
Someone’s first day,
Miniature beats ring through white wires,
Today’s Beat poet plays.

An early morning paper round,
The left side of the road,
Smile, or don’t smile,
Tin cars zip by below.

The Seventh Hour and you’re late,
Walk towards the sun,
Slides, swings, and your dead weight
Prey on your lonely fun.

Viewed through tinted glasses,
A few choice songs,
The moment of Today’s Journey passes,
Half past again, you’re gone.
